back into the zoo, back into the fray
About a half-minute before I started writing this entry, I was enjoying my first peach in almost 2 years. To my chagrin, after five bites of the nectar-y pulp, I've newly discovered yet another latent allergy. Peachy, really.
Has anybody else ever noticed that? I'm finding that I've developed all sorts of food allergies that I did not have as a child. Soy milk, apples (other than Fuji -- ahh, a phenotype with good taste), and now peaches. It's funny when you consider that the peach was once my favorite fruit, behind the tangerine. (Note: The ribs of my throat have just constricted, and now it feels like needles when I swallow.)
Really a mild irritation more than anything else. I shall eat peaches again someday. I'm just glad that I haven't developed any adult allergies to something like seafood or the like. That's unspeakable.
Besides that, today was my first day back in classes at the U. It was fine -- took my first psych. class for the year, and a surprisingly harmless math course. Oddly enough, the latter class turned into some sort of high school reunion, with no fewer than four former mates recognizing me. It was quite good -- we all just stood around after class and discussed our summers before I headed off to work.
I'll write more on this tomorrow perhaps. I seem to be undergoing palpitations at the moment. ~Finn
